Music is an important cultural factor in the life of Defiance College. Its influence is projected through the Men's and Women's Glee Clubs, the Cl oral Society, the College Choir, the student musicales, and a series of concerts by visiting artists of high rank.

Christian influences are quietly but potently exerted by the College Church, the Young Men's and Young Women's Christian Associations, the Christian Divinity School, the Religious Associations, a sympathetic faculty, and a student body largely Christian.

Defiance also has her athletic teams. Teams that, although they cannot always win, always give their best. Physical education, however, is not confined to those making the various teams, but classes in physical training and intramural games place tl e benefits to be derived from athletics within the reach of every student.

Opportunity for self-expression is not confined, however, to athletics alone. The debating club, the Literary Societies, the Collegian, and Purple Masque offer splendid opportunities for training in that line.

Life at Defiance is not all hard work, neither is it all fun. Each is given its proper place. The best thing about it is that it imbues within the hearts of the students a spirit of friendship and loyalty to each other and to their Alma Mater.

Defiance is a member of the Ohio College Association and enjoys good credit relations with great universities. In addition the state departments of education in Ohio, Indiana and other states have approved the College for the training of high school teachers.
