Barrington, Mary, 1907, Domestic Contract

This agreement is made between Mrs. E. I. Gilman (employer) and Mary Barrington (employee). Employment as Sec. To begin Jan. 3. Wage per week $5.00.

DOMESTIC REFORM LEAGUE

Employers and employees making engagements through this office are required to sign this contract, and any one breaking the contract shall forfeit the use of the office.

Trial Week: The first week shall be a trial week. If the employer discharges the employee before the expiration of the week, she shall pay the employee the full week's wage. If the employee leaves voluntarily before the expiration of the week, she shall forfeit the wage due her, and also the use of this office.

Permanent Engagement after a week's trial shall be by the week. If the employer discharges the employee, she shall give the latter a full week's notice or one week's wage in advance. If the employee leaves voluntarily, she shall give the employer a full week's notice or forfeit one week's wage.
