A genealogy search is the process of determining what resources exist that contain information of a genealogical nature; checking to see what resources are available; and then locating and researching select sources.
A standard research process is typically employed to conduct a genealogy search, beginning with what is known and working back from the most recent events to those of an earlier time. A variety of resources are available for conducting a genealogy search, including online resources, libraries and archives, and various civil resources.
