Guthrie County High School, 1881, Overview
The Guthrie County High School was organized in accordance with Sec. 1697 of Iowa Laws, which provides that counties may establish and sustain a High School for the benefit of those who desire a more advanced education than the ordinary schools of the count) afford, and for those who desire to fit themselves for the vocation of teaching.
The School has just closed a very successful year's work and is in every way. in a prosperous condition.
The High School building, located at Panora, Iowa, is a handsome, commodious structure, and is one of the finest school buildings in the State.
The School has a fine Library, and a fine list of Philosophical Apparatus Additions are made to both from time to time, and it is the aim of the Trustees to make this School, by its high grade of scholarship, thorough instruction. and generous endowment, with all the appliances necessary for the most successful work, worthy of being, as it is. a County High School—the only one in the State.
